Winter Truffle (Tuber Brumale)

Winter Truffle (Tuber Brumale)

Price range: 32,00 € through 600,00 €

Rustic, bold, and captivating, the winter truffle is a true gift of the colder months, typically emerging from December through March. Its aroma is far more intense and spiced than that of the Burgundy truffle, carrying deep notes of forest floor, damp leaves, pepper, and musky earth. Though less delicate than the prized black truffle (Tuber melanosporum), the winter truffle is deeply flavorful,  robust, assertive, and unapologetically earthy, making it perfect for hearty, comforting winter cuisine.

How to use Winter Truffles:

  • Best used in rich, slow-cooked dishes that can absorb their depth, including braised meats, game, rustic stews, creamy risottos, and butter- or cream-based sauces.
  • Their flavor and aroma develop further when gently warmed, releasing a warm, inviting scent that enhances the dining experience.
  • Winter truffles can also be shaved raw over finished dishes to add fresh truffle aroma and flavor.

Its pronounced aroma and taste develop further when gently warmed, releasing an inviting, almost smoky scent that fills the kitchen and promises a memorable dining experience.

The winter truffle is not just an ingredient—it is a taste of the season itself, evoking cold forest walks and the cozy intimacy and warmth by the fireside.

Storing Truffles:

Do not wash truffles before storage—leave a little soil on them to help preserve freshness. Wrap each truffle individually in a clean paper towel and place them in a sealed container or jar in the refrigerator. Replace the paper towel daily. Just before serving, rinse the truffles under cold water and gently brush away any remaining soil. Pat them dry with a kitchen cloth or paper towel, and they’re ready to enjoy. For optimal flavor, consume within 7 to 9 days of delivery.

Fast Delivery:

Your truffles will arrive at your door within 24–48 hours of ordering. They are carefully packed in specially designed packaging to maintain optimal freshness and protect their delicate aroma and texture during transit, ensuring you receive them in perfect condition.
